Why is my portfolio value different than expected?
Understanding Portfolio Value
Your portfolio value can change for several reasons. Here's what might cause unexpected values.
Market Price Changes
Asset prices change constantly during market hours. Your holdings' values update as prices move.
After-Hours Movement
Stocks can gap up or down between trading sessions. Even though trading stops when the market closes, the price often changes overnight. Your portfolio value may jump (up or down) at market open to reflect the new price.
Data Delay
Free users see delayed quotes (typically 15 minutes). Your displayed value reflects delayed prices, not real-time prices. Upgrading to the Pro version provides real-time market data.
How Value is Calculated
Total Portfolio Value = Cash Balance + (Shares/Units Owned × Current Price)
